Part of our call as the body of Christ is to care for one another.

Pastoral Counseling

Pastoral care at First Presbyterian is accomplished by a team composed of our pastor, Deacons, Stephen Ministers and other lay leaders.  We strive to include all members in our church family, whether they are in church every Sunday or home bound. Upon request, Deacons will administer communion to home- or hospital-bound members on communion Sundays. (The first Sunday of each month.)

When a member is suddenly ill or in crisis, our pastor definitely would like to be notified. Please call the church office at 248-474-6170.

Stephen Ministers

If you need longer term one-on-one counseling, our Stephen Ministers are qualified and available to help you.

Stephen Ministry is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-on-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and our community.

A Stephen minister can listen, offer resources and referrals, pray with and for you, and offer Christian love and support, while maintaining your privacy and confidentiality. They are caring, supportive Christian people who have a desire to be with you in a time of need, grief or crisis.

If you are in need of a Stephen Minister or know someone who is, or if you would like to learn more about the program, please call the church office (248-474-6170). Your need will be handled with utmost confidentiality.
